Century Cruises has announced the launch of the 398-passenger Century Paragon. With the introduction of the new vessel, Century grows to a fleet of six riverboats on the Yangtze River. A sister ship, the Century Paragon, will be launched in two months.
“Century Cruises continues our commitment to offering the very best Yangtze River cruise experience,” said Richard Xie, director of sales and marketing, Century Cruises. “This new state-of-the-art ship greatly exceeded our expectations and includes all of the features our guests have grown to love on our other gorgeous ships, plus new innovations such as dedicated executive club all-suite levels and the first indoor pool and leisure area afloat on the river.
Designed specifically for Western travelers, the Paragon will sail on Tuesdays for four-day/3-night itineraries downstream between Chongqing and Yichang and on Fridays for five-day/four-itineraries upstream on the same route. When launched, the Century Legend will sail upstream on Tuesdays and downstream on Saturdays.
The itineraries visit the Yangtze Rvier highlights of Shibao Pagoda, the Three Gorges of Daning River (or Shennong Stream), the Three Gorges Dam as well as a transit of the dam’s locks system
New features on the Century Paragon include extended exterior scenic sightseeing elevators; a seven-story grand atrium lobby; a 2,000 square-foot indoor swimming pool and leisure area. The ship also features a large, pillar-less multifunction room with 12-foot ceilings that hosts evening performances and guest lectures.
For entertainment, there is a 150-seat HD cinema with multi-lingual capabilities. WiFi is available throughout.
Century claims to features the most spacious staterooms on the Yangtze and all staterooms feature a private balcony designed specifically to offer the best views.
All suites and staterooms feature daily maid and turndown service, superior king-sized bedding, all-cotton luxury linens, separate sitting area, LCD Satellite televisions (with channels including HBO and CNN), individually controlled air conditioning, bath with separate tub and shower, personal grooming amenities. In addition, suites feature personalized butler service, Italian coffee makers, mini bar, DVD players, daily snacks and fruit. Guests in the Presidential Suites may also take advance of room service.
The spacious, forward-facing Presidential Suites feature a large wrap-around balcony with chaise lounges. Executive Club and Presidential Suite Guests can also take advantage of an exclusive Executive Club á la carte restaurant, bar and reception area.
Century Cruises will celebrate its 10th Anniversary in 2013. Its seven river cruise vessels are the most modern fleet on the Yangtze River.
