Los Angeles, California, is a huge cargo port and each year more cruise ships dock here. To handle their growing number of customers in this area, Viking Life-Saving Equipment has established a new service facility. Al Osle, Viking managing director for the Americas, made the announcement.
"Part of Viking's focus is directly addressing our customer needs and it was imperative that we have a facility to serve Los Angeles," said Osle. "The nearby Long Beach area also is very important to both the cargo and cruise ship markets. It is the third largest container port hub in the world."
Conveniently located at 1450 Canal Avenue, Long Beach, California 90813, the building is only 2 miles from the Port of Los Angeles and the Port of Long Beach. It provides 11,000 sq. ft. of space and is staffed by three experienced Viking employees. Misael Mejia will serve as the service manager.
For almost 50 years, Viking has been a leading manufacturer of maritime safety products. They produce chute- and slide-based marine and offshore evacuation and embarkment systems, liferafts, lifejackets, immersion suits, fire suits and other life-saving equipment.
