IMG Sports Media, a division of IMG Worldwide, announced today that it has been re-appointed by the Premier League to exclusively distribute all programming to the InFlight and InShip markets for the next three seasons (2010 – 2013).
The agreement, which is effective immediately, will include all 380 matches, a selection of highlight programming, as well as live coverage of matches to the InShip market.
Richard Wise, Senior Vice President, Programme Sales, IMG Media said, “The Barclays Premier League is widely recognised as the most exciting league in the world and we are proud to represent it for a further three years. We will continue to provide all 380 Games live to the InShip market and fully intend to offer live games InFlight within the next year.”
Premier League Chief Executive Richard Scudamore said:
“We have worked with IMG for many years and we are very pleased to extend that partnership with the InFlight and InShip agreement for seasons 2010/11 – 2012/13.
“We are entirely confident that they will distribute all the best Barclays Premier League action in a comprehensive and innovative manner.”
This news follows an announcement earlier this year that IMG has also been re-appointed to handle all core production and distribution for the Premier League’s international programming and in addition to this work, which IMG has been undertaking since 1997, Premier League Productions (a division of IMG Sports Media) will also be responsible for producing a 24 hour Content Service offering, seven days a week.
The English Premier League was established as the top English professional football league in the 1992/93 season and has developed into what is arguably the best domestic league competition in the world.
