Azamara Recommendations for Now through Spring 2022

Azamara has announced “recommended voyages for travelers looking to sail now, next year, and in 2021 through spring of 2022,” highlighting a holiday voyage, 2020 maiden ports and 27 new itineraries for 2021 through Spring 2022.

Close-in offerings include a 15-night New Year’s Eve in Rio voyage, setting sail Dec. 21, 2019 to 2021 sailings featuring 41 maiden ports of call in the South Pacific, Northern Europe and Africa.

For 2020, Azamara is offering 93 different itineraries, calling at 273 different ports in 71 countries. This includes 148 overnights (one, two and three nights) and 273 late nights, according to company information.

Also unique to Azamara are its 15 country-intensive programs for 2020, with voyages focused on ports of call in one country, such as Croatia, Spain, Italy, Norway, Japan or New Zealand.

AzAmazing evenings are another brand feature, an exclusive and complimentary destination event for guests, with local talent and performances, often set in historic venues. Examples include a visit to the  Busan Cultural Center last summer, a venue dedicated to showcasing Korean heritage, music and art in Busan, South Korea. After cocktails, guests were entertained with Korean folk dances and demonstrations of taekwondo. On a more recent Caribbean cruise, guests were treated to Caribbean cuisine and Barbadian entertainers who came aboard.

Azamara will also be offering the brand’s first African voyages next year. These are said to be curated with many pre- and post-shore excursions, a wildlife safari in Kenya, an introduction to the Zulu culture, as well as the wine country of South Africa.

And with the addition of 27 new itineraries for 2021 and winter/spring 2022, Azamara promises more explorations and more overnight stays around the world.

Among the 2021 highlights is a 14-night Black Sea cruise starting in Athens with calls at Varna, Constanta and Odessa, where guests can visit the Shustov Cognac Museum.

Azamara describes itself as an up-market cruise line and a leader in destination immersion, with three mid-sized ships sailing around the globe.
