Silversea Expands Range of Shore Experiences

Two Silversea voyages departing in December 2019 will be enriched by immersive new shore experiences, which guests will enjoy on a complimentary basis, the company has announced in a press release.

In Melbourne, the cruise line’s guests will discover Australia’s operatic culture at an exclusive performance from the tenor Mark Vincent; while in Castries, St. Lucia, travellers will delve deeper into local tradition at a beach party.

“We are delighted to expand our shore-side offering on these two voyages further, by unlocking these exclusive new experiences for our guests,” said Adria Bono, Silversea’s senior director of destination experiences. “In Melbourne and Castries, our guests will be immersed into authentic local cultures, as they enjoy extraordinary local talent and traditions.”

The Mark Vincent concert will take place at Melbourne’s city concert venue on December 8, where guests of the Silver Muse’s 14-day sailing from Sydney to Auckland will be welcomed with cocktails and canapés before they settle into their seats to enjoy the talents of Vincent and his band.

An internationally renowned singer, Vincent is the only classical artist in Australia’s history to have released six albums by the time he was 20, and has sold more than 500,000 albums worldwide, according to a press release.

Over in the in Caribbean on December 10 – during the Silver Wind’s call in Castries, St. Lucia, en route from San Juan to Fort Lauderdale – an evening of food, fun and frivolity awaits guests at a beach cocktail party at the Pigeon Island National Landmark, a living museum situated on a picturesque isle, which is connected to the mainland by a causeway.

In this natural setting, guests can listen to the music of a steel band as they watch stilt walkers, fire-eaters, and limbo dancers. Guests can also admire the creations of local artisans on their stroll to the beach where the finale of their evening includes a bonfire, culinary delicacies, drinks, entertainment and dancing under the stars.
