Saga Cruises’ recently announced a 20-night all-inclusive art-themed Mediterranean cruise aboard the Saga Sapphire, according to a release.
Stops in Spain include Figueres, Barcelona and a private viewing at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and will feature artists such as Salvador Dali, Antonio Gaudi and Frank Gehry. Optional excursions include the Picasso Museum in Malaga, Spain, Paul Cézanne’s studio in Toulon France and the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.
“In the South of France, guests can follow in the footsteps of Cezanne and visit his studio in Toulon as well as viewing the Roman amphitheatre in Arles,” said James Langley, head of Marine Operations.
Onboard, guests can participate in art talks, including a lecture with a master forger. There will also be art classes in which guests can produce their own paintings.
The trip departs on February 23, 2018 and includes all meals and snacks, 24-hour room service and selected wines at lunch and dinner, house-branded spirits, draught beer and lager and all soft drinks.
“The team really let their imaginations go for this sailing and we decided on a 20-day cruise to fit in all of the ideas,” said Langley.
Saga Sapphire sails from Southampton and calls at Malaga, Barcelona and Palamós, Spain; Sete and Toulon, France; Livorno (Florence), Italy and Palma and Cadiz, Spain.
