CSSC Launches New Marine Service Business

 New CSSC Marine Service Logistics Centre, Yangshang free trade zone, Shanghai, China China State Shipbuilding Corporation today announced it had launched a new business, CSSC Marine Service, along with a new logistics center that is set up in a free trade zone in Shanghai.

The inauguration of the new business and logistics center took place on June 30, and was attended by 150 industry representatives, according to a statement, including major suppliers.

CSSC Marine Service will be able to provide up to 20,000 kinds of ship parts, according to a release, with a warehouse covering 9000-square-meters, as well as an advanced distribution center with quality assurance monitoring.

“CSSC Marine Service was established earlier this year to facilitate lifecycle services and flexible solutions to the entire CSSC product portfolio. This new logistics centre is the first step to enable quicker responses to customer needs,” the company said.

CSSC also added it plans to expand similar centers in Hamburg, Athens, Singapore, Houston and Dubai.

Andrew Stump, President, CSSC Marine Service Co., commented: “In the future CSSC Service will manage parts, field service and warranty for all CSSC manufactured products. There will be a particularly strong focus on Low Speed main engine and medium speed auxiliary engines from brands manufactured by CSSC. Our logistics centre will act as the hub for our global distribution network with the aim to be capable and efficient in the delivery of key engine components on a global scale. We know this will take time and energy to ensure we are in the right places to support the vessels needs, but we are confident that our young, exciting and energetic team will progress very quickly”.
