Fred. Olsen to Start River Cruise Line

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is heading to the rivers, and today announced a 2018 program aboard the 156-passenger Brabant.

The ship will sail 30 departures, including programs on the Danube, Rhine, Main and Moselle Rivers.

According to the 2017-2018 Cruise Industry News Annual Report, adding the river capacity into Fred. Olsen’s market profile, it will account for under 5 percent of capacity for the 2018 season.

Cruise lengths range from five to 25 nights, according to a company statement. There will also be a special focus on scenic daylight cruising.

Fred. Olsen’s new river cruise itineraries on board Brabant for 2018 include: Düsseldorf, Germany to Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Düsseldorf to Nuremberg, Germany; Nuremberg to Budapest, Hungary; Budapest to Hirsova (Bucharest), Romania; Düsseldorf to Basel, Switzerland;and Hirsova (Bucharest) to Düsseldorf.
