The AIDAvita has launched its maiden AIDA Selection out of PortMiami, leaving earlier this week.
AIDA Selection offers new itineraries to off-the-beat destinations on AIDA’s first generation of ships. The cruises are generally longer and offer more time in port.
AIDA took the sail-away party up a notch, with fireworks aboard against the Miami skyline.
The itinerary is a 19-day trans-Atlantic crossing that will take guests via Port Canaveral to Hamilton, Bermuda. From there the ship will sail for Ponta Delgada in the Azores. After further stops in La Coruña in Spain, and Falmouth and Dover in the UK, the cruise will end in Hamburg on March 24, 2017.
Before AIDAvita sets out on her next cruise, the ship will spend 11 days undergoing an overhaul at a shipyard in Bremerhaven. Numerous public areas are being modified for the new AIDA Selection program, according to the company.
