Allure of the Seas Makes Maiden Call to Puerto Rico

Royal Caribbean International’s Allure of the Seas visited San Juan for her first call on June 9, docking at Old San Juan’s Pier 3.

“The arrival of the Allure of the Seas represents an investment of approximately $2,877,911 to the local economy. We are very pleased with the continued arrival of mega cruise ships to our shores, since they represent a positive impact for our economic development,” said Ingrid I. Rivera Rocafort, Executive Director for the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC)

Ingrid Colberg Rodríguez, Executive Director for the Puerto Rico Ports Authority, said: “The arrival of the Allure of the Seas for the first time to the San Juan Port is no coincidence, but the result of the work strategy implemented to promote the growth and strengthening of the Island’s cruise ship industry. The strength of this industry under the current administration is a direct result of the trust recovered from the cruise ship industry, which can be seen in the arrival of new ships, the increase in passengers and new routes incorporated. The arrival of the Allures of the Seas and other mega cruise ships is possible after the $9.3 million expansion project of Pier 3, which is helping the San Juan Port to recover its leading positioning in the cruise industry, and the incentives packages plan to attract more cruise ships to our port”.
