The Deutschland (photo: Sergio Ferreira)Peter Deilmann, operator of the Deutschland, has published its 2012 annual financial report.

Annual turnover remained consistent at 51.2 million euro, compared to 52.2 million in 2011.

EBITDA increased from -1.3 million euro in 2011 to a positive 3 million euro on 2012’s 366 cruise days.

The company stated that some 50 percent of passengers that sailed during 2012 were repeaters.

“This is testament to the great degree of loyalty and satisfaction of our customers. Considerable growth in new customers was also recorded in 2012,” said the group.

The company also placed a five-year bond for 50 million euro in December with a coupon of 6.875 percent and the line’s cooperation agreement with TV broadcaster ZDF was renewed through 2017.

Konstantin Bissias, managing director, said: “In light of the challenges posed by the Fukushima disaster, we are satisfied with the way the Deutschland developed last year. The significant increase in new customers is very pleasing and shows that we are on the right track by stepping up our sales activities. Thanks to the continued cooperation with ZDF, we will retain our unique selling point.”
