Harris Maritime Communication Services (MCS) has signed a new contract with Salamis Lines providing high-speed internet, voice and data services to passengers and crew.
Working with their regional representative,Tototheo Trading Limited in Limassol, Harris MCS has developed a comprehensive services offering for Salamis, according to a press release. Harris will provide the Salamis Filoxenia with satellite bandwidth, access to an all-IP network, crew and passenger calling, internet café services, and operational support for onboard equipment, with what the company called full coverage and high reliability across the Mediterranean.
The 15,400-ton Filoxenia has nine passenger decks, a beam of 22 meters, and can accommodate up to 500 passengers (double occupancy and 800 maximum). Built in 1974, the ship has previously sailed as the Gruziya, Odessa Sky, Club I and Van Gogh, and since 2009 as the Filoxenia.
