The engine room block has been completed for the LNG-powered AIDAnova, according to a statement from the German cruise brand.
The construction was completed at the Neptun shipyard in Rostock. The block measures 120 meters long and 42 meters wide, spanning three decks. It will house four Caterpillar dual-fuel engines.
Next, the shipyard will move the block from Rostock to Papenburg. The process will take four days, and is subject to weather conditions on the Kiel Canal. When it arrives in Papenburg at Meyer Werft, the yard will connect it to other ship blocks in the building process. The ship launches late 2018.
