Brazil Market Report
Key Players
in South America
COSTA
After several years of consolidating
operations, Costa Cruises started growing
again in South America in 2019. While
the pandemic delayed part of the plan,
the Italian brand is set to offer one of its
largest seasons ever in 2023-24, which
will see the Costa Diadema, the Costa
Favolosa and the Costa Fascinosa serving
domestic markets in Brazil, Argentina and
Uruguay for over five months.
CVC
With a history of chartering multiple
vessels for local seasons, CVC is one of
the largest tour operators in Brazil. After
giving up on its own operations in recent
years and moving backstage through
commercial and marketing partnerships
with Pullmantur, CVC hasn’t been directly
involved in the cruise market since before
the pandemic. The company remains a
significant seller of cruises.
MSC
MSC Cruises is the undisputed market
leader in South America. Operating a
record-breaking season in 2023-24, the
company will deploy its largest ever ship
to Brazil later this year, the 4,888-guest
MSC Grandiosa. The brand’s six-ship local
program also includes vessels serving
Argentina and Uruguay.
