Scenic Eclipse Presents Antarctica and America Land Journeys 2020-2022

Scenic EclipseAs the Scenic Eclipse departs on its first voyage to Antarctica, Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours has released its 2020-2022 program of ocean exploration voyages of discovery and handcrafted land itineraries.

With expert-led shore excursions, the Scenic Eclipse offers the chance to learn, discover and walk in the footsteps of past explorers, to gain unique insights into the vast colonies of wildlife and the natural wonders of these remote regions, the company said in a statement.

According to the company, the Scenic Eclipse is built to the highest international safety standards, utilizing state-of-the-art technology and GPS dynamic positioning, plus a host of safety features including innovative stabilizer fins to reduce its environmental footprint. A rating of Polar Class 6, the highest of any luxury vessel, enables the safest navigation through Antarctic waters.

Shore excursions allow guests to explore the most accessible and wildlife-rich region of Antarctica or glide on a kayak through sheltered waterways and drift quietly alongside wildlife while being surrounded by massive icebergs and ancient glaciers. Other shore visits include historic research huts and working scientific stations. Scenic’s Discovery Team teaches about Antarctica’s unique wildlife and environment. It is even possible to board the company’s helicopters and soar above for amazing views or head below the surface in a submarine.

New land experiences that Scenic offers include a ride to Machu Picchu that travels back in time aboard the elegant Belmond Hiram Bingham train, enjoying the ultimate in luxury train transportation on a daytrip to the world-famous Machu Picchu. A new touring in Rio is also part of the 2020-2022 program, which consist of a walk through the UNESCO biosphere reserve, Jardim Botânico (Botanical Garden) while learning about its unique history.
