Keel Laid for New Ryndam at Fincantieri

The keel was laid for Holland America Line’s new Ryndam today at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Marghera (Venice).

The first building block of the ship, 14 meters long, 34 wide and weighing more than 500 tons, is part of the central section of the Ryndam, which is the 14th ship built for this brand by the Marghera shipyard, due for delivery in 2021.

The Ryndam is a Pinnacle-class ship, and a sister to the Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam. All three ships are about 99,800 tons and 300 meters long, with 1,340 cabins.

Fincantieri has built 96 cruise ships since 1990 (of which 73 from 2002) and other 50 ships are currently being designed or built in the Group’s yards.
