The Costa Fortuna is currently offering its final cruise for Costa Cruises, having departed from Piraeus on September 4, 2026.

Wrapping up a 23-year career with Costa Cruises, the vessel is currently offering a seven-night cruise to the Greek Islands and Turkey.

Guests were also able to board the ship in Istanbul for the farewell voyage, which includes visits to Santorini, Rhodes, Mykonos and Heraklion.

The cruise marks the end of a summer season in the Eastern Mediterranean, which featured a series of weeklong cruises to a range of destinations in the region, including Izmir and Volos.

After bidding farewell to Costa guests on September 11, 2026, the 103,000-ton ship is scheduled to start its transition to Margaritaville at Sea.

Set to become the largest ship Margaritaville, the vessel will be handed over in Europe before entering drydock in Northern Ireland.

As recently reported by Cruise Industry News, Margaritaville went with the Harland & Wolff shipyard to transform the ship into the Beachcomber.

The 2003-built ship is scheduled to undergo a major refurbishment ahead of making its debut for the company in early 2027.

Most of the vessel’s interior and venues will be redesigned, introducing a new look inspired by the company’s product.

The former Costa Fortuna will also offer a series of new dining choices, in addition to theme-venues including the 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar.

Starting in January, the Beachcomber will offer a series of cruises to the Bahamas and the Caribbean departing from PortMiami.

The four- to eight-night itineraries feature visits to a range of destinations in the region, including Cozumel in Mexico, Freeport in Grand Bahama and George Town in the Cayman Islands.

Originally built for Costa Cruises at Fincantieri in Italy, the ship offers a design based on Carnival’s Destiny-class series.
