Glory Sea

The Glory Sea will homeport in Sokcho, South Korea, for a ten-month period starting this November, according to a statement from the port.

The ship will sail round-trip itineraries from South Korea to Japan and Russia on a charter program for Golden Bridge Cruise Company.

Deployment will see the ship call in Vladivostok, Russia as well as Shimonoseki and Maizuru in Japan. In addition will be one-night cruises and Korean coastal cruises.

While the ship 838-passenger ship will homeport in South Korea, it will also interport in both Russia and Japan.

“We anticipate it will revitalize cruise tourism greatly in the Russian market moving forward,” said a Sokcho port spokesperson. “At the same time, it will contribute to help popularize cruise tourism in the Korea market.”

Earlier this year, South Korea’s Oceans and Fisheries Ministry announced an ambitious plan to drive forward the domestic cruise business in South Korea, including financial benefits for lines calling in the country and went as far as announcing the funding of a start up Korean cruise brand.
