Coral Expeditions Offers Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race Sailing

Coral Expeditions will set sail along with the annual Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race December 26.

Guests will begin the cruise at the start of the race and arrive in Hobart in time for the winners’ celebrations. The voyage will feature guest lecturer John Longley, who has participated in four Sydney to Hobart Yacht Races, as well as multiple other prestigious races.

The cruise will conclude January 1, 2018, with a New Year’s fireworks celebration over the Derwent River and guests will be offered a special promotion for the Taste of Tasmania Festival, which will run through January 3, 2018.

The itinerary includes cruising the coastline from Jervis Bay to Twofold bay and stops at Ben Boyd National Park, Maria Island and the sea cliffs of Fluted Cape Walk at Adventure Bay. The itinerary, however, will be flexible to allow the captain to respond to weather conditions to ensure the best voyage.

The Coral Discoverer, which is making its first voyage since refurbishment in 2016, can take up to 72 passengers and features cabins and Bridge Deck Staterooms with balconies. The ship also has a sun deck and bar, according to a statement.
