Quintessentially Reboots Plans for Residence Ship

Quintessentially is said to be back in the cruise game and moving again toward building a 48,000-ton ultra luxury residence ship, the Quintessentially One.

The company last talked of the concept in late 2010, but was unable to secure a financing package.

Quintessentially is a “lifestyle concierge company” catering to the ultra rich.

Now, according to a report in the Guardian, plans are back on to build the ship; the company is said to have secured financing from Norway and Italy, where the vessel will be built, said the article.

The 48,000-ton ship is based on the residence-ship concept, but with slight adjustments.

Only some spaces will be available for outright sale, while the rest will operate as an exclusive hotel club.

Cruise Industry News estimates there will be roughly 250 suites aboard.

In 2010, Aaron Simpson, founding partner, told Cruise Industry News that the ship will also have what he described as a beach club, marina platform, multiple high-end food and beverage options, and indoor car parking for residents who would be able to bring their cars.

The ship is now set to debut in late 2019.
