Triumph Fire Caused by Leak

The fire that left the Carnival Triumph adrift on national television was caused by a leak in a fuel-oil return line, according to the United States Coast Guard.

Leaking fluid thus made contact with a hot surface and ignited, causing the fire, according to the Coast Guard, who said the crew did an excellent job responding.
