Page & Moy may charter a second ship to complement the 10,400-ton, 520-pasenger Ocean Majesty, according to Gaynor Harrison, head of cruise operations. “We are looking at slightly bigger tonnage, and will reassess this at the end of 2009,” Harrison said.

In addition, the company is in the process of finalizing its 2010 itineraries. “We hope to incorporate a ‘Grand Voyage’ cruise, and also start our Mediterranean season earlier than we normally do (which is typically the middle to the end of September).”

Page & Moy’s cruises are all ex-UK, sailing from Southampton or Harwich, “because our passengers are not fond of flying,” Harrison said.

The company sails in Northern Europe and the Baltic, as well as in the Mediterranean.

Clientele for Page & Moy are well-read, well-traveled, retired professionals, aged 70 and older, Harrison pointed out, adding that the company caters exclusively to the British market.

The Ocean Majesty was built in 1967, refurbished in 1994, and “is constantly being upgraded,” Harrison said.

Page and Moy’s typically does about 12 cruises per year, averaging 10 to 12 nights per sailing.
