The Thomson Spirit is a cruise ship operated by the British cruise line Thomson Cruises. She was built in St. Nazaire, France.

Launched on August 20, 1982, the vessel was christened by the Princess Margriet of the Netherlands.

Originally named Nieuw Amsterdam, it operated under the Holland America Line flag until 2000. Three years later, after a significant refit, the ship started cruising for Thomson Cruises.
