MSC Opera

MSC Opera

The MSC Opera was built in 2004. It served as MSC Crociere’s flagship until MSC Musica entered service, in 2006.

She was the second ship ordered by the cruise line, following the 2003-built MSC Lirica. Both are enlarged and enhanced versions of the Mistral-class ships MSC Armonia and MSC Sinfonia.

Built in France, it was christened by Sophia Loren in Genoa, in 26 June 2004. In 2015, she went back to shipyard for a further enlargement, which saw additional 25 meters being added to its length.
