The third Holland America Line ship to use this name, the Westerdam entered service in 2004.

She was christened in Venice, on April 25, 2004. During the ceremony, the Dutch actress Renée Soutendijk became the ship’s godmother.

Built in Italy by the Fincantieri shipyard, she is part of the Vista class at 81,000 tons.
