Carnival Spirit

Built by the Kvaerner Masa-Yards shipyard in Helsinki, Finland, the Carnival Spirit entered service for Carnival Cruise Line on April 29, 2001.

She is the first ship in the Spirit class which includes other five Panamax cruise ships: Costa Atlantica, Costa Mediterranea, Carnival Pride, Carnival Legend and Carnival Miracle.

At 88,500 tons and capacity for 2,124 guests at double occupancy, the Spirit was christened by American politician Elizabeth Dole in Miami, on April 27, 2001.
