Part of the Carnival Cruise Line fleet, the Carnival Liberty entered service on July 20, 2005.

Built in Italy, by the Fincantieri shipyard, she was christened by the American actress Mira Sorvino, in Civitavecchia (Italy) on July 19, 2005.

A Conquest-class vessel, she has other four sister ships: Carnival Freedom, Carnival Valor, Carnival Glory and Carnival Conquest.
