The Port of Barcelona has announced it has reached an agreement with Carnival Corporation to build and operate a new cruise terminal (Terminal E) on the Port’s Adossat wharf following a meeting between Catalan President Artur Mas and Carnival Corporation’s Giora Israel, along with four other senior executives.
Carnival will invest over 20 million euro, according to a statement, and the new terminal will be able to turn around the biggest classes of ships.
A previous terminal, Terminal D, built with investments by Carnival, will also be enlarged with a new building.
The new Terminal E will be managed by Carnival and is planned to be open for the 2016 cruise season.
