The Italian court system has convicted five involved in the Costa Concordia disaster to jail.
Of the five are two officers, the head of cabin service, the helmsman and the head of the crisis team, getting up to two years and 10 months in jail for multiple manslaughter, negligence and shipwreck.
Reports are they had agreed to plea bargains and may thus avoid custodial sentences.
Meanwhile, Captain Francesco Schettino is being tried separately and faces multiple manslaughter charges. His trial resumes in September.
