Costa Fascinosa Makes Surprise Marmaris Call

The Costa Fascinosa made her maiden call at Marmaris Cruise Port today. The ship cancelled her calls at Istanbul and Izmir preferring to alternate for a last minute surprise maiden call at Marmaris within this week’s itinerary.

Maiden guests were greeted with a welcome ceremony with the music and dances performed by the Turkish Folklore group on the pier. Following this ceremony, Marmaris Cruise Port kept the familiar and generous welcome style with a complimentary mini Turkish bazaar. The guests had the opportunity to walk through the mini bazaar as they disembarked their ship.

The mini Turkish bazaar incorporated many Turkish tastes for the guests to see and try. These included; a baklava stall (traditional desert of Turkey) and traditional Turkish ice-cream. Guests were also presented with free souvenirs and gifts on behalf of Marmaris Cruise Port such as red roses and blue beads famous with their spiritual protective eyes in the centre.

The pleasant warm Marmaris weather kept guests joyful as they enjoyed the various Turkish tastes and the music from the local Turkish Folklore group. The passengers then had the opportunity to discover the town of Marmaris or go onto excursions of their choices.

The master of Costa Fascinosa was presented with a commemorative plaque made of a traditional Turkish tile; a handcrafted ceramic with Ottoman Galleon, sets of ceramic coffee cups as well handcrafted and local bottles of wine by Marmaris Cruise Port’s General Managing Director, Sukru Tugay.
