Carnival Corporation has reportedly hired Bob Dickinson as a consultant.
Dickinson retired as president and CEO of Carnival Cruise Lines in 2007 at the age of 65, after serving 35 years with the company.
Gerry Cahill, who was executive vice president and CFO, took over as president and CEO of Carnival Cruise Lines.
In an interview with Cruise Industry News just before leaving, Dickinson said: “Our business model is absurdly simple. We answer to shareholders, employees, customers and travel agents. That is all there is.”
He also said that the “name of the game” is to maximize profits.
After retiring, Dickinson served on the board of Carnival Corporation until this spring.
