Fire Extinguished on Grandeur of the Seas

An early morning fire has been extinguished on the Grandeur of the Seas, according to Royal Caribbean International’s PR Twitter feed.

A fire was reported on the aft mooring deck, which was then put out. Royal Caribbean confirmed the area had been cordoned off, and most public areas and staterooms are safe and accessible – and passengers have been released from muster stations.

The fire was put out at 4:58 am local time and the ship is on its way to Freeport, power, propulsion and communications systems were able to continue without interruption.

The medical staff onboard reported two guests treated after fainting, one report of high blood pressure, and one report of cramps.

All 2,224 guests and 796 crew have been accounted for and Royal Caribbean is dispatching a support team to assist with any special guest needs onboard.
