Costa Names Mina Piccinini SVP Communication and Sustainability

Costa Crociere S.p.A. Group has named Mina Piccinini senior vice president communication and sustainability, effective May 13. She will be based at Costa’s Genoa headquarters and will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Michael Thamm.

Piccinini will be responsible for Costa’s corporate communications, press office, sustainability, public relations and events. Piccinini, 39, has extensive experience in corporate communications and sustainability, initially in the nonprofit sector and subsequently in a series of international posts working for Fiat Group.

She joined Ferrari in 2004, first as head of the corporate press office in Maranello, Italy, and later as communication director for Ferrari West Europe, based in Paris.

In 2008 Piccinini was appointed head of the Fiat Group’s Sustainability Unit. Under her guidance, Fiat was admitted to the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability World and Europe indexes, which are global sustainability indices that set benchmarks for investors who integrate sustainability considerations in their portfolios, and provide an effective engagement platform for companies who want to adopt sustainable best practices.
