Aruba Golden Cruise Tourism Celebration

Aruba celebrated her 50th golden years of cruise tourism with a unique ambience, which impressed all the invitees, from the young ones to the adults.

The festive mood was set right at the entrance where Mrs. Santa and Mrs. Golden years welcomed the invitees with sumptuous croquettes, a local delicatessen and with Champagne.

The room was filled with stars and Christmas decorations displaying the gold, red and white festive atmosphere, a blend of the golden anniversary and the Christmas mood.

Ms. Kathleen Rojer of Aruba Cruise Tourism welcomed everybody present to this mile stone celebration, including the President of the Aruban Parliament, Mrs. Mervin Wyatt-Ras, distinguished members of the Parliament of Aruba, and executives of the cruise tourism industry, as well as the youngsters and their group leaders.

According to Ms. Rojer “this mile stone is a merit to the Aruban community. All who contributed in the past, present and those to contribute in the future to conserve and give the best we can.”

The lite-lunch was served in style and the delicious “Keshi Yena” Gouda cheese filled with chicken, meat or seafood and oven-baked, was the favourite of all.

The highlight of the 50 years celebration was the cake cutting by Hon. Minister of Tourism and Transport – Mr. Edison Briesen, Executive Director of Aruba Cruise Tourism – Ms. Kathleen Rojer, and the Aruba Ports Authority NV Director – Mr. Alfonso Boekhoudt.

All savoured the exquisite 50 yrs. fruitcake made out of a local ancient recipe, which passed from generation to generations.

The Holiday Gift annual project by the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association member lines in conjunction with the Aruban government, presented the gifts to over one hundred fifty youngsters with the presence of Santa Claus.

The volunteer crewmembers of Adventure of the Seas, as well as the staff of Aruba Cruise Tourism assisted for a smooth flow and fond memories that will last forever.

Invitees celebrated the 50 years of cruise tourism to Aruba and enjoyed watching the kids receive their gifts with big smiles. The children were happy with their gifts and enjoyed being part of the 50 years of cruise tourism to Aruba celebration, as a surprise to them. All enjoyed in particular the champagne flute, which was filled continuously.

Happy Holidays!
