Holland America Line’s National Cruise Week Push

Holland America Line is planning special promotions to support National Cruise Vacation Week that runs Oct. 21-27, 2012. Sponsored by Cruise Lines International Association, the weeklong event is designed to support cruise sales and consumer exposure through a series of sales promotions and online opportunities.

Holland America Line is featuring a special one-week sale during NCVW with exclusive fares on a variety of the line’s global itineraries, including the Caribbean, Asia, South America, Europe, Alaska, Australia and New Zealand.

“Having a week dedicated to cruise travel promotion helps build sales momentum and ramp up consumer enthusiasm for cruising,” said Richard Meadows, executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programs. “Holland America Line helps travel sellers be successful during this annual event with easy-to-use tools and special offers that enable them to show their clients the value and excitement of a cruise vacation.”

Marketing support is available with customizable e-mails, flyers and website banner ads. These promotional tools are available at no charge and can be accessed at www.travelagentheadquarters.com.

Travel sellers who register by contacting their Business Development Manager receive an On-Board Value Booklet that contains coupons valued at more than $200 in savings off shipboard services and can take advantage of reduced deposits for their clients.

Guests making bookings on board will also be able to take advantage of reduced deposits and value booklets, as well as receive up to $200 per person in shipboard credit that can be combined with any group amenities or vacation week offers. The premium line will host a Cruise Night event for guests aboard each of its 15 ships during the NCVW promotion. All travel sellers will receive credit and full commission for all future bookings made aboard Holland America ships.

To support NCVW across North America, Holland America Line also has arranged several “On Stage Alaska” presentations — a free multimedia travel presentation about the Last Frontier, and on-site visits to travel sellers by its Explorer motor coaches that are adorned with Alaska wildlife and nature scenes.

Travel sellers can conveniently book their clients using POLAR online, where they can make a reservation in a few easy steps, including booking and managing groups.
