After meeting with cruise line executives in January, Aruba port management agreed that that the best way to give crew a break was to provide them with a place where they can communicate with their families.

Thus, the port is building The Crew Lounge powered by BOOLCHAND’s, Aruba’s leading electronics retailer. The facility will be located in Cruise Terminal 7 at Pier C – the main terminal – and will offer computers with video camera capabilities, free wi-fi service, mail service, money transfer services by MoneyGram, international cable programming on flat screen TVs, and convenience items for crew members.

According to Alfonso Boekhoudt, port director: “Aruba Ports Authority will provide a sanctuary for cruise-ship workers who visit every year and enable them to come in some form of contact with their families.”
