The Savannah city council is weighing whether or not to move to a two-stage study of exploring becoming a cruise ship hub.
Azamara Club Cruises, Crystal Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises all have calls scheduled at the Georgia city in 2013.
According to SavannahNow.com, the city paid BEA Architects $129,500 for a two-phase study in 2010 to consider economic conditions and other factors relating to attracting cruise ships.
The city claimed at the time that they could expect up to 350,000 visitors annually by 2020.
The two-phase study being proposed is said to cost $279,500, looking at navigational and environmental issues, while evaluating three sites for a terminal.
