Tortuga Opens Rum Cake Store at Falmouth Jamaica Cruise Ship Pier

When Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas arrived in Falmouth, Jamaica on Wednesday, July 18, doors to Tortuga’s new flagship retail store at the pier opened to welcome them and share their authentic taste of Jamaica with over 5,000 cruise ship passengers. They were greeted with Tortuga Rum Cake samples, Rum Punch, Fruit Punch and the sweet sounds of a local Steel Pan artist.

“We welcome the Tortuga Rum & Rum Cake store at the Falmouth Pier. They are an excellent example of a company that successfully provides an authentic Caribbean experience and promotes Jamaica and our entire region to the rest of the world,” noted William Tatham, Vice President, Cruise Shipping and Marina Operations at The Port Authority of Jamaica. The Falmouth Pier is now the Jamaica’s busiest pier and recognized internationally at Seatrade Europe as 2011 Port of the Year.

“Through the hard work of our dedicated team who excelled in the planning and execution of this project, I am proud to see this new flagship location become a reality. Tortuga is pleased to be a part of the RCCL Falmouth project and look forward to providing customers and visitors with quality products in this comfortable and nostalgic shopping environment,” said Marcus Simmonds, Chief Executive Officer for Tortuga International.
