Big June in St. Petersburg

Norwegian Sun Drills in St. Petersburg Port

The Passenger Port of St. Petersburg is halfway through its 2012 cruise season, with more than 52 ships already having called at the port, according to port officials.

June 14 saw seven cruise ships at once, with new callers in June including the Costa Voyager, Costa Fortuna, Seabourn Sojourn and MSC Magnifica.

The Norwegian Sun even went as far as running evacuation drills while in port on June 5.

Among the social events which took place in the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg were “Volvo Family Day” organized by Volvo. The new Volvo cars and trucks were presented and all the guests had an opportunity to test drive the latest models of cars and try the traditional Swedish snacks and drinks.

The Port’s new heliport was on display June 22 when it was used by President of Finland during his visit to the city for the International Economic Forum held in St. Petersburg.
