Carnival: Two Ships in Europe in 2013

Carnival Cruise Lines will have two ships in Europe in 2013, with the Legend sailing both in Northern Europe and in the Mediterranean from late April through October.

In addition, Carnival has announced that the Destiny will sail trans-Atlantic from Miami on Feb.4, arriving in Civitavecchia Feb. 20 (2013). Beyond that, Carnival said itinerary details will be released in March.

However, it is very unusual for Carnival to release only portion of a deployment, and the Destiny is going to Europe very early in the year, which is also unusual.

That begs the question: what is Carnival up to? Will the Destiny start a very early Mediterranean program or is she being transferred to Costa to replace the Concordia?
