Trapani Closes 2011 Cruise Season

The port of Trapani has closed its 2011 cruise season with a total of 108 calls. The port saw some days with multiple ships in citing examples of hosting the Thomson Dream and Holland America Line Eurodam at the same time, in a prepared statement.

Officials said: “On all these occasions, the port organization had to face a higher difficulty than usually, in operational terms. But all services and the general organization overcame all expectations, meeting the cruise ships requirements and needs fully.  Feedback was very positive either coming from crew and from passengers. Moreover, many passengers have said they would have liked to return.”

The port counts on three berths (Garibaldi, Marinella and Ronciglio) and a close and protected anchorage point which allows the accommodation of all those ships. Some ships also operated at anchor in very safe conditions thanks to the new floating pier “Angela P.”

Many cruise guests chose the excursions to the beautiful Erice or the archaeological Segesta, both offered with H/D or F/D possibility. Other passengers went to the Trapani city-center.
