Harber Promoted to Vice President of Corporate Marketing at Carnival Corp

Bill Harber has been named vice president of corporate marketing for Miami-based Carnival Corporation & plc, the world’s largest cruise vacation group.

In this capacity, Harber is responsible for working across the company’s 10 cruise brands on marketing and profit improvement initiatives, as well as identifying guest source markets and operational models for growth.  Harber reports to Richard Ames, Carnival Corporation & plc’s senior vice president of shared services.

Harber joined Carnival Corporation & plc in 2004 to help establish a corporate-wide IT function. During his tenure with Carnival, he has had increasing responsibilities within the corporate shared services group and was tapped to lead the company’s corporate marketing efforts in 2008.

Since that time, Harber has successfully grown the organization by collaborating with brand leadership and department heads in the areas of distribution, reservations, marketing, revenue management, and itinerary planning.  He also manages global market research and key performance indicators for these areas and cross-promotes brands in North America through the World’s Leading Cruise Lines marketing alliance.

“Through strong relationships with our brands, Bill has been successful in spearheading multiple cross-brand initiatives of value to the corporation,” Ames said.  “Bill’s extensive knowledge and expertise, combined with his ability to think strategically and innovatively and deliver pragmatic solutions, are tremendous assets to our company,” he added.

Prior to joining Carnival Corporation & plc, Harber was a management consultant with A.T. Kearney for six years and also served as director of product marketing for a technology start-up.

He earned his MBA with a concentration in marketing strategy from Emory’s Goizueta Business School and graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a bachelor of industrial & systems engineering.
