The visit had not been planned, but the need for an inspection of her crankshafts prompted the 22,080-ton Marco Polo to make an unexpected stop in Lloyd Werft’s small Kaiserdock before the start of her winter season.
The 176.28-meter long cruise ship is better known at the yard as the Alexander Pushkin.
She is one of a series of ships built in the 1960s for the former Soviet Union. The current Marco Polo, which sails for Greece’s Global Cruise Line, was built in 1965 at the Mathias Thesen Shipyard in Wismar. She left Lloyd Werft last weekend.
