Big Day at Port of Quebec

October 14 was a busy day for the Port of Québec, with nearly 8,500 cruise passengers and 3,421 crew members.

A total of five cruise ships docked at the Port of Québec. It marked the busiest day of the season, which wrapped up on October 18.

The five ships that berthed were the Crown Princess, the AIDAaura, the MSC Poesia, the Maasdam, and the Seven Seas Navigator.

Two of those ships were in Québec City for turn arounds, the Crown Princess and MSC Poesia.

“I am very pleased to see how popular Québec City is with cruise lines. The City of Québec and the tourism industry have a lot to offer visitors, so I am very optimistic about the years ahead. It’s already clear that next year will be an unprecedented cruise season for the Port of Québec,” said Québec Port Authority president and CEO Mario Girard.

Québec’s international cruise industry generates direct economic spinoffs of nearly $86 million, including $25 million in the Québec City area.
