Archives: Regent Sun

The Regent Sun, pictured under service for Regency Cruises, was laid up in 1995 following the line’s bankruptcy. The 25,320-ton ship started service in 1964 as the SS Shalom, running trans-Atlantic from Israel to New York. She sailed for German Atlantic Line, as well as for Home Lines, and Royal Cruise Line before joining the Regency fleet in the late 1980s. The ship sank on the way to be scrapped in India in 2001, off the coast of South Africa. More Here.
