Funchal Drydocking in Lisbon

“We will handle the tail shaft removal and work on steel renewal,” said Rodrigues. “The work is straightforward, it is typical steel and mechanical work.”

Fortunately, the 1961-built vessel had been tied up since the start of the year, giving the yard to time to evaluate the job, which required 100 workers.

“A second drydocking will take place at the start of the summer, where we will fit back the tail shafts and propellers and conclude the class renewal as well as a complete hull treatment in order to have a great arrival in Australia.”

The refit was estimated by operator Classic International Cruises at 5 million euro.
