Costa to Use Grand Voyager from IberoCruceros for Winter 2011/2012

Grand Voyager (photo: Rui Minas Agostinho)Costa Crociere will build up in the Red Sea in 2012, with three ships deployed, according to a statement from the line. The Costa Allegra will be joined by IberoCruceros’ Grand Voyager from December 2011 through March 2012, and then the Costa Marina will sail in the region from March through November 2012.

The Grand Voyager will return to the IberoCruceros fleet in March 2012.

This past winter season IberoCruceros opted not to send the Grand Voyager to South America like the rest of its fleet nor run a winter season in the Mediterranean. It appears IberoCruceros, which is managed by Costa, has found a use for the vessel next winter in the Red Sea under the Costa brand.

The Grand Voyager will get the trademark Costa “C” on its  funnel, which will be painted yellow and will “have Costa personnel on board and will offer the same distinctive Italian-style service excellence found on other Costa cruises.”
