The AIDAluna making her inaugural visit to St. John's, 2010The Cruise Newfoundland Labrador (NFL) group has announced that some 20 cruise ships representing 16 different lines will be calling in 2011.

The ships will be sailing on 27 distinct itineraries, according to NFL, and call at more than 50 ports in the region.

The itineraries range from trans-Atlantic to Canada/New England cruises, Arctic voyages, circumnavigations and adventure/expedition sailings.

The season starts with the Silver Whisper calling in St. John’s on May 23. 

Total visitors are projected to be more than 50,000 passengers and crew.
