MSC Appoints New Hong Kong & Southeast Asia Managing Director

MSC Cruises recently appointed Stephen Van Wormer as the new Managing Director of his branch office in Hong Kong & Southeast Asia. Van Wormer will succeed former Director, Ms Gerica Ricci starting from December 20th 2010. Italo-American, Van Wormer has been working with MSC Cruises since 2005, covering several key positions both on board and a shore. In the last three years he served the Corporate Hotel Management Department, being mainly responsible for implementing regulations and standards of the Company operating policies throughout the 11-ship fleet.

“I look forward to starting this new thrilling challenge”, comments Van Wormer. “Given our unrivalled product, boosting MSC Cruises brand and raising the consumer awareness about us in Hong Kong and South East Asian markets is certainly a promising mission. My role will be to strengthen our company’s connections with local government bodies and tourism boards to spread the MSC Cruises name all over.”

In line with the company’s plan to enhance its presence in Asia, MSC Cruises has recently joined the Asia Cruise Association (ACA), the league of leading cruise lines to champion the development and promote the growth of the cruise industry in Asia.
