Carnival Splendor Suffers Fire off Mexican Coast

The Carnival Splendor suffered an engine room fire off the coast of Mexico, about 150 miles from San Diego, earlier today.

No injuries were reported although the fire did re-ignite after being put out and had to be extinguished again.

The United States Coast Guard was reportedly sending help to the scene.

The ship is operating on emergency power as the crew tries to get the engines restarted.

The seven-day voyage left from Long Beach yesterday, Sunday November 7, with 3,299 guests onboard.
